Miles to Go Before She Sleeps is a documentary film about Yang, a retired school teacher's journey towards abolishing the practice of dog eating in China. I worked on creating a brand identity for the film and designed the film poster. The goal of this project was creating a visual identity that could merge animal welfare advocacy with the unique themes and emotions of the film.
Emotional Identity of Film
Emotional Portrayal: Lyrical, Mysterious, Foreboding, -- not dark in theme nor in look— although some content might be a little grotesque, the focus of the film was about the main character and her journey rather than the unjust that was happening towards the dogs.
Act 1 : Warm Tones(red/sepia), Passion, Hunger, Drive
Act 2: Dreamy Cool (green/teal hues—push on both ends) Tones, Investigation, Uneasiness
Act 3: Dark Mysterious Tone (blue), Open-ended, Unfinished
